Summer Camp Classes
Looking for a learning adventure during the summer break? Click on the Summer Camp classes below for descriptions of the fun we’ll have together!
Join me to learn about 10 creepy creatures from Elisa Gravel’s fun book series “Disgusting Critters.” We will read about the bat, the spider, the worm, the rat, the slug, the toad, the fly, the mosquito, the cockroach, and head lice! In each class we will also play an interactive game to review facts about each animal and do a directed-drawing to remember each disgusting critter. These classes are perfect for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. 10 classes total.
In these classes, we will have fun learning about different parts of grammar. We will begin each class by reviewing a particular grammar topic. Then we will read a story, play an interactive game, and complete a fun craft, all focusing on our topic. The topics for these classes include nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, contractions, compound words, interjections, suffixes, prefixes, prepositions, synonyms, antonyms, pronouns, conjunctions, punctuation, homophones, homographs, homonyms, capitalization, shades of meaning, and run on sentences. I would email parents the printables of the crafts before each class so students would be able to print them out. These classes are perfect for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. 30 classes total.
These reading lessons have a main text, a shorter companion text, vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and writing. I would teach these reading lessons for students in 1st through 3rd grade.
Hello! I’m Teacher Shannon IZ. I have been a teacher for 26 years! I have taught 2nd grade, bother regular and gifted classes. I have also taught as a substitute teacher in Early Childhood classrooms through 5th grade. I have a master’s degree in Elementary Education with a focus on Reading. I earned both the TESOL Foundational Certification and the Advanced Certification. I love teaching children, and I am so excited to team up with Blue Sky Education LLC. I teach ESOL classes as well as specialty classes, which include Grammar Tales and a series called Disgusting Critters.
Here’s a little about me: I live in Wildwood, Missouri, with my husband, my son Jacob, and our three fish. For fun, I love to spend time with family, take walks, listen to music, read, and spend time outdoors. I hope to see you in the classroom soon!

Adhere to all Blue Sky Education Policies.
Communication: Please send a message through the Blue Sky website to Teacher Shannon if your child cannot come to class within 2 hours of our class time. We can reschedule for another day and time with no financial penalty.
Student No-Show: If your child does not come to his or her class as scheduled, you will forfeit that class. Exceptions can be made for emergencies. Please communicate with Teacher Shannon as soon as you are able and we will work together to reschedule.
Late Students: Teacher Shannon will stay in our classroom for the first 10 minutes of the class. If your student is not in the classroom at 10 minutes, Teacher Shannon will leave the classroom. The class will not be refunded or rescheduled.
Teacher Rescheduling: If Teacher Shannon is sick or has a family emergency, your class will be rescheduled. Teacher Shannon will make every effort to communicate with you ahead of our scheduled class.
IT issues: If we experience technical difficulties that keep us from having class, we will reschedule your course. If we experience ongoing technical issues over several classes, we will work together to solve the problem to ensure your student has the best classroom experience possible!

关于老师更改上课时间: 如果Shannon老师生病或家里有急事，该次课将可以重新约上课时间。Shannon老师会尽最大努力在上课前尽早提前通知家长进行安排。
关于IT技术问题: 如果在课堂上遇到不能解决的技术故障问题导致课程无法进行，我们可以重新约上课时间。如果我们在几次课上连续出现技术故障以致于课程不能正常进行，我们可以一起努力解决问题，从而确保学员能最大可能地获得最佳的上课体验!
